The Rappahannock Area Health District is accredited by the National Association of County & City Health Officials\u2019 Project Public Health Ready<\/a> (PPHR) program. Project Public Health Ready is a competency-based training and recognition program that assesses preparedness and assists local health departments or gro<\/strong>ups of local health departments working collaboratively as a region to respond to emergencies. It builds preparedness capacity and capability through a continuous quality improvement model.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Rappahannock Medical Reserve Corps<\/a> (MRC) is a cadre of volunteer healthcare professionals and community members without a medical background who are trained to respond to emergencies and assist with public health events within the Rappahannock Area Health District. Our unit is one of approximately 800 units that are part of the national Medical Reserve Corps program under the direction of the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General and one of 31 in the Commonwealth of Virginia.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
