 <\/p>\n

In April 2011, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner showed the facial approximation of Andre Macklin to the media and public.<\/p>\n

The family of Andre Macklin saw the report and contacted the Medical Examiner\u2019s Office. This led to his identification through the use of new DNA technologies after previous DNA testing using older technology did not generate a usable DNA profile.<\/p>\n

The following cases are still unidentified.<\/h3>\n

The Virginia OCME is asking for the public\u2019s help in identifying these individuals. The cases shown here have had facial approximations completed through a collaborative effort with the FBI\u2019s Forensic Imaging Unit and the Forensic Anthropology Services.<\/p>\n

NamUs is a national information clearinghouse and resource center for missing, unidentified, and unclaimed person cases across the United States. Funded and administered by the National Institute of Justice and managed through a contract with RTI International, all NamUs resources are provided at no cost to law enforcement, medical examiners, coroners, allied forensic professionals, and family members of missing persons.<\/p>\n

Tidewater (Eastern) OCME Cases<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The remains of an adult white male were found on 3\/28\/2015 in Virginia Beach. He is believed to be between 40 and 65 years old and approximately\u00a0 5\u20192-5\u20197 tall. He had a healed fracture of the nose as well as a healed fracture of the left clavicle. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP13739.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The remains of an adult white male, approximately 20-40 years old, were found on July 20, 1982 in Chesapeake. He was approximately 5\u20194-5\u20196 with medium length brown hair. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP9342.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The remains of an adult white male, approximately 40-70 years old, were found January 29, 1982 in the Chesapeake Bay Harbor of Newport News. Central OCME Cases<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The remains of an adult white male were found in Brunswick County on January 1, 1990. He was between 45-65 years old. This individual had healed facial and abdominal trauma, possibly from a car accident or other traumatic event sustained 15 years prior to death. The remains of an adult white male were found in the City of Richmond on July 2, 2020. He was between 39-64 years old and approximately 5\u20192-5\u20197 in height. This individual had healed fractures to the nose, ribs and shoulder (clavicle). The fractures to the nose would have caused the nose to deviate to the left. The remains of an adult black male were found in the City of Richmond on March 7, 2016. He was 33-49 years old and approximately 5\u20199-6\u20193 in height. He had a healed fracture to the right knee, which may have caused him to walk with a limp. He may have been partially deaf in the left ear. The remains of an adult black female were found on May 28, 1989 in Louisa County. She was 25-35 years old and approximately 5\u20194 in height. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP 10812.<\/p>\n

The remains of an adult black male were found on November 30, 1988 in Sussex County. He was 35-45 years old and had multiple dental restorations. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP 6648.<\/p>\n

The remains of an adult white male were found on July 20, 2010 in Mecklenburg County. He was 45-60 years old and approximately 5\u20198-6\u20192 in height. This individual had multiple dental restorations. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP 7605.<\/p>\n

On November 10, 1988 the remains of two Hispanic males were found along I-95 in Caroline County. The older male was 35-45 years old and approximately 5\u20195-5\u20199 with black hair. The younger male was 17-25 years old and approximately 5\u20196, also with black hair. DNA testing showed a likely parent-child relationship between the two sets of remains. The remains of an adult black male were found in Richmond on September 26, 2000. He was between 50-70 years old and approximately 5\u20192-5\u20199. He had black hair with some gray and wore a size 12 shoe. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP6148.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/p>\n

On August 27, 2002 the remains of an adult black male were found in Richmond. He was between 50-70 years old and approximately 5\u20192-5\u20195. He wore a size 10 tennis shoe. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP6169.<\/td>\n\"NamUs-6169_sm\"<\/p>\n

The remains of an adult female, possibly Black, were found in Petersburg between May 14, 2007 and August 12, 2012. She was between 20-39 and approximately 5\u20191-5\u20198. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs cases UP6665 and UP10692.<\/td>\n\"NamUs-6665_sm\"<\/p>\n

The remains of an adult male aged 25-60 were found on November 1, 1976 in James City County. He is believed to be multi-racial, possibly Hispanic, Asian, and Native American. The remains of an adult black male were found on January 16, 2003 in Arlington. He was between 30-45 years old and approximately 5\u20198. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP6484.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The remains of an adult Asian male, approximately 30-45 years old and 5\u20193-5\u201910 were found on February 13, 2011 in Alexandria. Additional case details can be found in the NamUs case UP8729.<\/p>\n

\"2006<\/a><\/p>\n

The third case represents the skeletal remains of an older white male who stood between 5\u20195\u201d to 5\u201911\u201d tall. The remains were discovered on April 6, 2006, by a man walking in the woods near eastbound I-66 at Route 7100 in Fairfax.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
