If it does, you will need a Campground Permit from the Virginia Department of Health. Examples of temporary camping events include camping at musical festivals and other short-term events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Temporary camping operators should contact the appropriate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/local-health-districts\/\">local health department<\/a> as far in advance of the event as possible. <\/strong>VDH recommends that temporary campground operators review the entire text of the campground regulations (<a href=\"https:\/\/law.lis.virginia.gov\/admincode\/title12\/agency5\/chapter450\/\" rel=\"noopener\">12VAC5-450 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-21725\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/u_elq1vz823k-bitcoin-9620386_640.png\" alt=\"Leaving site\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/u_elq1vz823k-bitcoin-9620386_640.png 640w, https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/u_elq1vz823k-bitcoin-9620386_640-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/u_elq1vz823k-bitcoin-9620386_640-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 14px) 100vw, 14px\" \/><\/a>) to see which regulations apply.<\/p>\n<p>Temporary campgrounds may have the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A temporary camping permit allows up to 14 days of temporary camping (in a row or not) in a 60-day period.<\/li>\n<li>Temporary campgrounds must have at least 1 portable\u00a0toilet per 75 campers.<\/li>\n<li>When there are RVs, sewage tank pumping must be available.<\/li>\n<li>Temporary campgrounds must provide water. Acceptable water sources include:\n<ul>\n<li>A waterworks,<\/li>\n<li>An approved, tested private well, or<\/li>\n<li>Commercially-bottled water.<\/li>\n<li>Water hauled in from a public water supply or a VDH-approved, tested private well.
