Dear Waterworks Owner and Other Interested Parties:<\/p>\n

Under the Safe Drinking Water Act, Congress authorizes capitalization grants to the states through the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund Program (DWSRF).\u00a0 As part of the annual DWSRF grant application process, Virginia seeks meaningful public involvement through input, review and comments.\u00a0 The Virginia Department of Health\u2019s Office of Drinking Water (ODW) prepared a draft Intended Use Plan (IUP) that explains the goals of the program, funding priorities, how ODW intends to use the grant funds and other important information submitted from the funding requests and set-aside suggestions.<\/p>\n

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) received several funding requests and set-aside suggestions following the February 2020 DWSRF funding solicitation announcement.\u00a0 The draft IUP and draft project lists were open for review and comment by the public for a period of 30 days and it was available on the ODW website.<\/p>\n

The VDH posted this Intended Use Plan under the Financial & Construction Assistance Programs at\u00a0http:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/drinking<\/a>–<\/a>water\/<\/a>\u00a0and under the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall at\u00a0https:\/\/townhall.virginia.gov\/L\/ViewNotice.cfm?gnid=1239<\/a>\u00a0for a 30-day public comment period beginning May 7, 2021.\u00a0 The\u00a0amended IUP and amended PPL<\/strong>\u00a0were posted in the same locations for a public comment period beginning\u00a0Monday, August 23, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Due to existing COVID-19 restrictions, VDH did not hold a public meeting, but solicited comments and recommendations regarding this IUP until Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.\u00a0 VDH-ODW received no public comments nor recommendations.\u00a0 The\u00a0amended IUP and amended PPL<\/strong>\u00a0will be available for comment and recommendations until\u00a0Monday, September 20, 2021<\/strong>.\u00a0VDH considers all meaningful public input and comments and will revise the IUP and project priority list if necessary.\u00a0 Please direct your request for information and forward written comments to:<\/p>\n
