Rates are helpful to compare disease occurrence across populations of different sizes and are calculated per 100,000 people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-12036-1-0-1\" People with HIV\/AIDS<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<ul>\n<li>Black, non-Hispanic populations have the highest counts of HIV\/AIDS followed by White, non-Hispanic people.<\/li>\n<li>Male-to-male sexual contact (MSM) is the most commonly reported transmission risk for people with HIV.<\/li>\n<li>The highest burden of AIDS in Virginia is with people aged 50 and older.\u00a0 There are likely several reasons for this including that many older adults were diagnosed in their younger years; older adults are less likely to get tested; and symptoms are easier to miss when paired with normal signs of aging or in the presence of other conditions, which could lead to a later diagnosis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-12036-1-0-3\"
