They will host two clinics for Chesterfield, Colonial Heights and Powhatan students, rising 7th and 12th graders, ages 11 and older. These are at 9501 Lucy Corr Circle in Chesterfield, Thursday, July 17, and Friday, July 25, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping children up to date on vaccinations can reduce severe illnesses, and unnecessary absences from school and work saving your family time and money. Vaccines are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccine-safety-systems\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">safe<\/a> and effective and are your child\u2019s best defense against infectious disease.<\/p>\n<p>Families should make sure their child\u2019s immunizations are up to date now to avoid delays when school starts in August.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrimary care appointments in central Virginia are difficult to get,\u201d Nurse Manager LaWanda Dunn said. \u201cWe\u2019re offering these immunizations to students now to make sure everyone can start school on time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>What immunizations are provided?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u25cf 7th grade:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">\u25cb Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap)<br \/>\n\u25cb Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY)<br \/>\n\u25cb Human papillomavirus (HPV)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u25cf 12th grade:<\/p>\n<p>\u25cb Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Bring your child\u2019s immunization record and insurance card, if applicable.<br \/>\n\u25cf There is no expense to receive immunization; if applicable, insurance is billed for administration.<br \/>\n\u25cf All children under 18 must be accompanied by someone 18 years or older.<br \/>\n\u25cf When your child has received these immunizations, provide the records to your school nurse.<br \/>\n\u25cf For more information, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/chesterfieldVa.health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chesterfieldva.health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is required:<br \/>\n\u25cf July 17: <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/40xO2ma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bit.ly\/40xO2ma<\/a><br \/>\n\u25cf July 25: <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/4keTAZV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bit.ly\/4keTAZV<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chesterfield Health Department Hosting School Immunization Clinics Make sure your student is ready to go back to school in the fall.
