The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and operated in Virginia through the Virginia Department of Health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>WIC provides:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>screening and referrals to other health, welfare and social service agencies<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and support<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>supplemental nutritious foods<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To be eligible for the WIC Program, applicants must meet categorical, residential, income and nutrition risk requirements.<\/p>\n<p>To apply, you will need to bring some information to the WIC appointment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proof of income (pay stubs, Medicaid card, Food Stamp letter)<\/li>\n<li>Proof of identity (driver\u2019s license, birth certificate, Social Security card)<\/li>\n<li>Proof that you live in Virginia (utility bill or other item with your name and current street address)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Call (434) 477-5937 or (434) 477-5945 for more information.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-10-1\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-10-1-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell panel-grid-cell-empty\" ><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHAT IS WIC?
