School Required Immunizations<\/h3>\t\t\t

The Central Shenandoah Health District is here to help you and your children prepare for a healthy year of learning.<\/p>\n

There are School Required Immunizations<\/a>\u00a0for Virginia schools and day cares. Certain vaccines are required for children at different ages according to the\u00a0American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) current schedule<\/a>. New vaccines are added to the schedule as they become available, and are required by law to help protect children from infectious diseases.<\/p>\n

It’s important to get your child vaccinated before the school year begins, as schools are required to send unvaccinated children home until they have proof of immunization.<\/p>\n

These vaccines are available at our health department locations by appointment only<\/span>. Call your local office to schedule an appointment today.<\/p>\n

Walk-In Clinics<\/h3>\t\t\t

CSHD and Sentara are partnering this summer to provide walk-in clinics for school-required immunizations and sports physicals. The events are first-come first-served, and are for older children (rising 7th & 12th grade students).<\/p>\n

  • Tools for Schools Event:<\/strong> August 8, 10:00 am \u2013 3:00 pm at Eastern Mennonite University, 1307 Park Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22802. VDH offering ONLY rising 7th<\/sup>\u00a0grade (Tdap, HPV, & MCV4) and rising 12th<\/sup> grade (MCV4 booster).<\/li>\n
  • Atrium Sports Physicals and Immunizations Event<\/strong>: August 15, from 10:00 am \u2013 1:00 pm at the Sentara Atrium, 2000 Beery Road, Harrisonburg, VA 22801. VDH offering ONLY rising 7th<\/sup>\u00a0grade (Tdap, HPV, & MCV4) and rising 12th<\/sup> grade (MCV4 booster).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>

    School Entry Physicals (NOT Sports Physicals)<\/h3>\t\t\t
