{"id":1065,"date":"2025-04-28T14:03:04","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T18:03:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/brain-health\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=1065"},"modified":"2025-04-28T14:03:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T18:03:09","slug":"dementia-capable-care-specialist-dcc-training","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/brain-health\/event\/dementia-capable-care-specialist-dcc-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Dementia Capable Care Specialist (DCC) Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"event__header\">\n<div class=\"event-header-text\">\n<h2 class=\"event-title\">Dementia Capable Care Specialist (DCC) Training<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"event__content\">\n<div class=\"event-details__description\">\n<p>Dementia Capable Care (DCC) is an evidence-based dementia and behavior training program designed for health care workers that makes a sustainable impact.<\/p>\n<p>Earners can apply specialized approaches using Dementia Care Specialists at Crisis Prevention Institute\u2019s (CPI) Dementia Capable Care Model to:<br \/>\n(a) optimize function, safety, and quality of life through person-centered and cognitively supportive approaches using Allen Cognitive Levels and Model<br \/>\n(b) apply CPI\u2019s Crisis Development Model\u2120 to prevent and de-escalate distress behaviors and<br \/>\n(c) support families.<\/p>\n<p>Earners of this designation are leaders in a dementia capable workforce and advocates of a Dementia Capable Society.<\/p>\n<p>Cost is $200 per person.<\/p>\n<p><b>This course is a hybrid format. Learners will complete a 4 hour online class prior to the in person class.
