DESCRIPTION:Join Us for an Interactive Age-Friendly Health Workshop. \nThe Cedars Ministry of Mosby Memorial Baptist Church\, in partnership with the Henrico County NAACP Health Committee\, and the Virginia Geriatric Education Center\, invites you to participate in a free interactive workshop designed to help adults and caregivers take a more active role in their health and well-being. \nThis engaging session will focus on the 4Ms of Age-Friendly Care: \n\nWhat Matters – Your goals\, preferences\, and priorities for living well\nMedication – Understanding the medications you take and how they affect your health\nMind – Supporting mental health\, memory\, and overall well-being\nMobility – Maintaining movement\, independence\, and safety\n\nParticipants will learn from healthcare experts about evidence-based Age-Friendly Care practices while exploring My Health Checklist\, a practical tool designed to help adults and caregivers prepare for medical appointments and health care conversations. \nThe checklist helps you: \n\nReflect on what is going well with your health\nIdentify areas that could be improved\nOrganize questions and concerns for your healthcare provider\nFocus discussions on the issues that matter most to you\n\nAdults deserve collaboration\, kindness\, respect\, and meaningful partnerships with their healthcare teams. SUMMARY:Building Community and Connections: Innovations in Adult Day Programming for People Living with Dementia
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar\, Amazing Place and OPICA Adult Day Program & Counseling Center will share insights into innovative programs and strategies that have proven successful in supporting people living with dementia and their family caregivers. \nAmazing Place will highlight its innovative efforts to recruit and engage a multigenerational workforce. Through its STARS (Student Training in Alzheimer’s & Respite over the Summer) program and Legacy Workforce model\, the organization creates meaningful opportunities for both individuals beginning their careers and those pursuing new opportunities after retirement. \nOPICA will share strategies that support the sustainability of its adult day programs through an extensive multidisciplinary internship program and innovative fundraising initiatives. The presentation will highlight the vital role interns play in engaging and supporting individuals with early memory loss.
